Open-Box: Used Santa Fe In-Wall Dehumidifier (UltraMD33)

Known as the first true in-wall dehumidifier, the UltraMD33 maintains a healthy, comfortable living space. It’s sized for rooms and areas up to 1,200 square feet and removes up to 33 pints a day in rooms or multi-family housing.

Built-in Dehumidifying

Portable dehumidifiers take up floor space and can be loud when used in living areas. This Ultra-Aire In-Wall dehumidifier, formerly the Ultra-Aire MD33, easily fits between wall studs for built-in dehumidifying, making it ideal for small spaces like apartments, hotels or multi-family housing.

How it Works

Simply set the desired humidity level on the electronic humidistat during installation, and this model maintains it for low-maintenance, hands-off use.

Air is brought in from the bottom and lower openings on both sides of the front panel. It’s released from the top and upper openings on each side.

The set point and on/off button is located behind the diffuser, limiting the access. This design allows for use in hotels, senior housing and other locations where limited access is ideal.

Installation

Designed to fit between two wall studs, you’ll need an opening of 14.5 inches across and 30.25 inches tall. You must cut through both walls on either side of the dehumidifier, so installation has to be in an interior wall. It can be hardwired into existing electrical or plugged into a 120-volt outlet (an optional 10-foot cord and plug included with purchase).

Installation of this dehumidifier may require the purchase of additional accessories based on the following scenarios:

• If penetrating both walls and the opposite side is a mechanical room, no additional accessories are needed.
• If back wall is functional space, installation requires a 2×4 Wall Mount Bezel Kit (PN 4037767).
• If the other side of the wall goes into an unconditioned space, it may require the 2×4 Rear Panel Kit (PN 4037768) to add a layer of insulation to prevent condensation.
• For surface mount installation, the surface Mount Kit (PN 4037766) is required.

Note: While professional installation is recommended, it’s not required. Be sure to shut off your electrical breaker before installation. See the owner’s manual for additional installation directions and requirements.

Draining

A 10-foot drain hose is included. It must be connected into the drain port and routed down the internal wall cavity to an HVAC AHU drain (which connects to the HVAC drain pan) or other acceptable drainage. Depending on where it’s installed, this can be done by gravity, or an external condensate pump can be added to pump water to the drainage location.

Once it’s set up, this design eliminates the need for reservoir tanks or other manual draining requirements. Be sure to check your local codes before installing this model.
