Distinctions 14,700 BTU PTAC w/ Electric Heat

The 14,700 BTU Distinctions Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner is equipped with electric heat and can be installed with an in-room wall thermostat or a central desk control as needed. Dual fan motors allow precise, independent fan speed operation and simple DIP switches allow customized controls and settings.

Control Installation Options

The Distinctions 14,700 BTU PTAC with Electric Heat provides three convenient unit control options.

• Control Panel: This allows simple control using the unit’s soft-touch control buttons for operating mode, fan speed, and temperature set point.

• Wall Thermostat: Control this unit using a wall thermostat thanks to the included DIP switches.

• Front Desk Control: This is a valuable way for hospitality industry users to control the air conditioning and heat from a central location for all connected units.

Operating and Fan Modes

No matter the weather, this PTAC will keep room temperatures comfortable. Cooling, electric heating mode, or fan-only operation provide maximum comfort. LED lights indicate the operating modes and power on and off. Select one of three fan speeds and use the vent to allow fresh air into the room when desired.

Other option controls include a low-temperature protection setting, a three-second load delay, and a continuous fan run for heat and cooling.

Optional Accessory

If this is the initial installation of a PTAC or if the existing wall sleeve is worn or unstable, you will need a new one. The Amana Collapsed Wall Sleeve and Drain Kit is available for this unit.

Additional Features

• Standard Size: The  Distinctions PTAC dimensions are 42 by 16 by 21 inches and will fit into any standard-sized wall sleeve.

• Air Filters: These units have two air filters and can be easily cleaned by vacuuming off heavy soil and then using water and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

• Auto Evaporator Freeze Protection: The compressor is turned off automatically to keep the evaporator from freezing, and the indoor fan is turned on when the evaporator temperature is too low.

• Compressor Restart Delay: This feature extends the compressor’s overall life by preventing the AC’s short cycling. The unit is designed to give at least three minutes to equalize refrigerant pressure for optimized cycling.

• Memory: In case of a power outage, this unit will remember all the settings, so when power is restored, it starts to back up with the same settings.

• High-Temperature Protection: When the unit is heating, the compressor and electric heater will be switched off to prevent damage in high indoor blow air temperature or error indoor temperature sensor situations.
